Theatre Arts – Ukhozi

Ukhozi – the Wanderer is a story of a young car guard in pursuit of his dreams. Karluja is a self-proclaimed office manager. He wears a white german suit to work everyday and pretends to be working in an office.

This play explores themes of loss, hope, love, and the overarching theme of black-on-black violence, interrogating the concept of violence through the currency of language. Ukhozi suggests an alternative perspective for how society can look at human beings who negotiate existence differently.

Ukhozi speaks directly to the relationship between Obs residents, both formal and informal.
